Victor spoke to me in a Skype video early this morning to give me the exam results of the 10th and the college students.
Santosh, Ramesh and Isaak |
Our top two 10th girl students this year were Sneha and Sujatha with 77% and 75%. Isaak also got 77%.
Jhansi and Lakshmi failed their science paper but they will be able to retake it in a few weeks time.
Now the young people have to decide if they want to go to college for two years, do some other training, or go home and get married.
If they choose college they have to come to terms with being dependent and penniless for the next two years. Education is highly prized in India and students are prepared to attend college and take extra tuition if necessary.
To continue to college will cost £250 per annum for each child. This will provide the basic fees, books, uniforms and transport.
We are very grateful to all the sponsors who have agreed to pay for their child, or another young person, to attend college in addition to continuing their usual monthly sponsorship.
Some of the student-sponsors have supported their children since 2005/6, the very beginning of Brighter Future's Rainbow Children's Home. Others are our more recent supporters and they have been inspired to help a student attend college. We thank them all most sincerely
Brighter Future is still looking for student

Anil, Sandeep Victor and Mary, Vasavi and Sanyasi |
Our College students have also done well.
Anil also got A grade in his 11th yr exams. Vasavi got A- and Sanyassi got a B.
Once again we have to find the fees for these young people. Sandeep's degree will cost £500 pa the others are all roughly £250 per annum. We have to buy uniforms and books as usual. The students who feel they can ride a bike through the town traffic to college will be given a bike, otherwise bus fares will be needed..
Congratulations to all of our students!
